Common hormonal disorders

PCOS / PCOD (Polycystic ovarian syndrome)

This is most common female hormonal disorder marked by presence of multiple cysts in ovaries. Some patients believe that it will be corrected automatically after pregnancy. But truth is different. PCOS is one of the major cause of Infertility (unable to conceive) in females. They have to be dependent on life time artificial hormones which regularizes the cycle but does not dissolve away the cysts, the root cause.

Ovarian Cyst

Ovarian Cyst is an accumulation of fluid within an ovary that is surrounded by a very thin wall and can cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. They are usually removed surgically and then if problem reappear the surgical removal of entire ovary advised, which has a negative effect on whole body

Fibroids

Uterine Fibroids are noncancerous tumors that develop in the uterus. Though these are usually harmless but cause tremendous agony in females by causing profuse, protracted and painful menses.

Infertility

Infertility is inability to conceive or become pregnant. If a woman keeps having frequent miscarriages, it is also called infertility.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis occurs when cells from the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other areas of the body. This can lead to pain, irregular bleeding, and tends to rupture easily.

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)

This is a term for inflammation of the uterus fallopian tubes, and/or ovaries as it progresses to scar formation with adhesions to nearby tissues and organs. This may lead to various infections.

Conventional Treatment of Female Hormonal Disorders

• Replacement of deficient female hormones from outside in form of contraceptive pills (deviry, yasmin, primulit, crimson, provera) and antidoting male hormones through artificial hormones is of temporary relief only as long as you take it.
• If patients do not respond to artificial hormone replacement therapy then surgical removal is second option where just end product of disease is removed.
• In infertility cases, heavy artificial hormones are fed along with invasive painful techniques and success is still not achieved.
• For fibroids and heavy menstrual flow, hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) is advised.

Hence without correcting the underlying cause an organ is removed saying “it’s of no use anymore to you”.

“Even after undergoing the trauma of surgery patient has to bear the after-effects and complications that may need even further corrective surgery”.
