NATURE’S LAW OF CURE
On the surface, the world may appear chaotic and unpredictable. However, if you look closely, you can observe patterns and a sense of predictability in this apparent chaos. For e.g., there are seven colors in the rainbow and seven days in a week. The rotation of the Earth on its axis and its orbit around the sun are both predictable and certain. This means it is evident that there is a precise order in the events occurring around us.
“Within the chaos of the world, there is a cosmos of order.” – Carl Jung
So, when we consider the human body, do you think its functioning is unpredictable?
Absolutely not!
Every process within the body operates with a system and a degree of predictability. However, we often remain unaware of the beautiful mechanisms that work inside us. Now, let’s consider diseases.
Order in disorder
When a person suffers from an illness, is there predictability or randomness? How could there be randomness in the diseases which a human experiences, if everything around us in nature follows a predictable and definite course?
Progression of a disease
Whenever a person suffers from a disease, it progresses in a systematic and predictable manner. For example, we often observe that when a child is born, the first issue he might face is a skin rash or diaper rash. If this skin rash is suppressed by external means like skin ointment, then the disease progresses further inside the body. The child starts experiencing a new disease, a respiratory trat disease. Why? Because the body has a remarkable defense mechanism that always tries to protect the vital internal organs by attempting to keep diseases on the exterior. However, when we suppress these external symptoms, the body’s defenses are forced to act inwards.
Consider a child who initially suffers from a diaper rash. If this rash is treated and suppressed externally with steroidal ointments, then the child starts experiencing recurrent upper respiratory tract infections like coughs, colds, and rhinitis. If these upper respiratory tract infections are further suppressed with nasal drops or cough syrups, the disease can progress deeper, into Lower respiratory tract infections like bronchitis or asthma. Suppressing these respiratory tract infections can compromise the body’s defences further, causing the disease to move to the next defensive layer, i.e. the gastrointestinal tract. The child may then start suffering from vomiting and gastric complaints. In this way, the disease progresses layer by layer deeper into the body, ultimately compromising the entire organism and potentially leading to death.
So, when we talk about healing, is there a way, a law, that explains how the body heals itself?
Yes, there is.
Progression of Cure
The body will always heal from the inside out and from above downwards. For instance, if a child has a gastric complaint and undergoes a healing therapy like homeopathy, the gastric complaint will improve first. As the body’s defense in the gastric sphere strengthens, the disease will move to a more external layer, such as the respiratory tract. When healing occurs at the respiratory tract level, the body’s defense at the respiratory tract level becomes stronger, and the disease is pushed further outward, on the skin.
This process of healing has been described by one of the most revered homeopathic doctor, Dr. Constantine Hering. He observed this pattern and formulated it into a principle known as Hering’s Law of Cure.
Hering’s Law of Cure
According to Hering’s Law, the four points which needs to be considered which healing occurs are as follows
- Healing Proceeds from Within Outward: Symptoms typically move from deeper, vital organs to more external parts of the body (skin, mucous membranes). This signifies that the body is expelling the disease from its core to less vital areas.
- Healing Proceeds from Above Downward: Symptoms often move from the upper parts of the body (head, chest) to the lower parts (abdomen, legs). This downward movement indicates the progression of healing.
- Healing Proceeds from a More Important Organ to a Less Important One: For example, symptoms might shift from the heart (a vital organ) to the skin (a less vital area). This indicates that the more crucial organs are being prioritized in the healing process.
- Healing Occurs in the Reverse Order of the Appearance of Symptoms: Symptoms that appeared first will be the last to disappear. This means that the most recent symptoms will be the first to be resolved during the healing process.
Hering’s Law of Cure emphasizes that true healing involves a systemic process that respects the body’s natural hierarchy and direction of recovery. And these 4 points are essential to evaluate the credibility of a homeopathic doctor. A doctor who follows these points in every case that he treats and doesn’t violate these points is the best homeopathic doctor.
Conclusion – Who is the best homeopathic doctor?
In conclusion, homeopathy is a system where the aim of every homeopathic doctoris to restore the sick to health (as mentioned in Aphorism no 1 – Organon of medicine). This means the goal of every homeopathic doctor is to heal the body from the inside out. If you observe a healing process that does not follow the principles laid down by Dr. Hering, it is not a good sign. Homeopathy is fundamentally about restoring health. Therefore, whenever you undergo the best homeopathic treatment, ensure that the cure progresses in the proper direction as established by Dr Samuel Hahnemann and Dr Hering. Cure progressing only as per these 4 points is a true cure and a doctor who follows these laws is the best homeopathic doctor.
